I recall Ronnie saying that for the newer 901 A+ exam we no longer need to memorize POST beep codes. In my transcender practice exam for the 901 A+ test there were a number of questions regarding beep codes, particularly for the AMI BIOS. So should I learn beep codes for the newer 901 A+ exam?

Solved POST Beep Codes A+ 901 Exam

I think the key here is to understand what the audible POST codes are to help you do...rather than the specifics. I would find it highly unlikely that they would ask you about a particular set of beep codes any more since every vendor can change them to whatever they choose since there is no beep code standards out there. So here's the key...
If there is a standardization on a list of things and details behind it...learn it.
If there is no standardization, then I would just understand the generic concept of it.
Why?
It's about what CompTIA represents as an organization--vendor neutral. Usually that means the focus is on standards rather than on specific configurations. Now that doesn't mean they can't ask you about it but it does mean there is less likelihood they will do so on something that specific.
Hope that helps....if not, maybe other members will chime here and give some practical advice on this particular topic!
Cordially,
