Is the Cisco console cable proprietary, or is it interchangeable with other switch equipment like HP's?

Console Cable
-
Tanya,
The Cisco Console cable is a rollover cable that has an RJ45 connector at one end and RS232 connector at the other end.
On most HP ProCurve's the console port is a an RS-232 port. You may need to change the RJ45 end with an adapter. It's setup, like Cisco is standardized to 8N1.

"IgnoreHWSerNum08033095"=hex:01
This will lock in the com port that the USB Serial Adapter to one COM Port. -
Mr. Allen, I owe you a *few* beers if this actually works. I struggled with this and Allen Bradley's RSLogix/RSLinx for YEARS.
Does the hex value = the COM port # to lock it to? or just lock it as it sits?
