This may be a relatively simple topic but a co-worker and I were conversing over what may be the issue with a client's laptop, the monitor has a strong shade of purple over the screen and we have checked the setting to make sure the color shades weren't just changed but that was not the issue, we were wondering what you think the issue might be. We thought it might be a loose wire connecting the monitor to the motherboard but we aren't certain, just wanted to get a second opinion on the issue and how we should proceed, replacing the monitor, etc. Thank you!

Unsolved Laptop Screen Issue

Before replacing, connect to external monitor and see if you're still getting the same shade or not. If are, then it's a video adapter issue and you need to troubleshoot there. If it's NOT and the pic is normal, you may have to deal with the laptop display. try to reseat the connector from display to motherboard. Wiggle the connection and see if the display is better. If it is, then it may mean a bad cable. see if the cable is replaceable. If it is then buy cable and replace. If it's not, replace display with soldered cable.
