ITPro Practice Exam - CCNA Route Switch

Hello ITPro.TV! I reached out to support a few weeks ago (response below) to inquire about an issue I was experiencing with the new CCNA Route Switch practice exam provided through ITPro. It seems the provided "WAN technologies" section of about 44 questions contains like 20+ on Frame Relay. A technology that I thought was dropped from the latest exam and not covered at all in the new course. The discovery has stalled my prep quite a bit as I am unsure if I am covering the correct material with this practice exam. I've reached out to Vivian 3 or 4 times since her response, but haven't heard back. Any update?

I'm pretty sure this might have slipped on my end rather than Vivian's but I will check with her.

Anyhow, in regards to CCNA Route+Switch. It is true that, according to the exam objectives you do not see Frame Relay covered officially. But having said that, working with Todd Lammle, I asked him about that, he said the basis of it though is that you'll still find it because many cisco labs are based around it. So it's not included by objective but to support the objectives itself. For the CCNA exam, you'll probably get a question or two on it even when it's not covered that is because it's a legacy question that comes up.

So for frame relay you should be familiar with the concepts, topology and basic setup of it.

Transcender's overwhelming 20+ questions on it is justified if they're telling those preparing like yourself are not studying Frame Relay that you should give some consideration to it, even if it's not on the exam objectives.

Added later: I just spoke to Vivian and she did send me an email on this question and I was the one who dropped the ball on this one.

Thanks Ronnie. Not a big deal, I just wanted to be sure I was covering the right material. Do you think you have an older video on Frame Relay that I should review? What do you suggest to cover Frame Relay in prep for this new exam?

It was just a bit surprising seeing it come up on the practice test like that without a module in the course. Most of the exam otherwise were familiar concepts covered in the course.

Yes, I believe we covered frame relay in the older CCNA material.
