Unsolved Course Topic on hacking Windows 10 user

Is there a course in Ethical Hacking Course that will educate me on how to crack into a Windows 10 computer User (owner's) account?

I have a case in which the owner is in a comma and the wife needs to access documents on the computer.

I was able to enable the Administrator account and even create a user and add it to the Administrators Group, Yet neither will allow me to access the Users/owner's data or even change the the password.

Is the HD encrypted? If not I would download a Linux Live CD (like System Rescue CD http://www.system-rescue-cd.org/), boot from it and mount the windows 10 partition to get the data.
