Good morning, I am in need of some assistance. I was trying to find a lab for this. Reaching out here, what I want to do is replace an old domain controller (2003r2), but keeping same name and IP. Do you have any write ups I a can research or labs in other places that have this practice?
also something covering Server 2003 to 2012 R2

Joshua,
Great question, and a tricky one sometimes if you are not careful, but definately something that you can do.
Take a look at these URL's to get a sense of what is involved. The step by step guidance is especially good in the first one, and should give you almost everything that you will need to address in one place:
If you need any additional help, or have any questions after you go through the material, just reply back and let me know.
Good luck !! :)
Cheers,
Adam

Do some digging around for something called Swing migration. We used to do a load of these when moving from older versions of SBS to newer versions. Parts of the migration work for none SBS domain controllers too.
