Hello... Where I work, we are a Dell shop, with some HPs scattered about for good measure. We use SCCM on USB flash drives to load Windows 11 onto our machines. I've run into an issue I cannot figure out how to get past. On Friday, the Dell laptop I was imaging failed with the following error message: "A critical error has been encountered during the deployment process. Step [Download OSD Summary Screen] returned an unsuccessful exit code of [2147954407]."
Some troubleshooting that I tried:
Booted to a Windows Recovery Drive
Launched Diskpart
After selecting disk, typed clean
Typed create partition primary
Typed format fs=ntfs quick
Result: Failed with same error (this has worked for other machines in the past)
Opened up the laptop and reseated the SSD and the battery
Result: Failed with same error
Moved the laptop to multiple different imaging stations
Result: Failed with same error
Tried different imaging servers
Result: Failed with same error
Does anyone have an idea why it gets through the entire imaging process only to crash and burn at loading the summary screen? My last resort will be to open it up and swap the SSD with a known-good one.
Thanks in advance.
