Hello,
In the lab this evening using Live Migration to move a Hyper-V VM from a cluster to a stand alone Hyper-V host and back. What I notice right away is that I actually have to remove the "clustered" VM prior to issuing the move command. In other words I have to open the Failover Cluster manager and "remove" the clustered VM. This places all management responsibility of the VM on the local Hyper-V Manager of the host that happened to be running the VM at the time. At that point I am able to use the Hyper-V manager to initiate a move with storage to complete the Live Migration.
I just wanted to make sure my understanding of that move process from a cluster to a stand alone host was correct? I didn't miss anything that allowed the move to take place without removing from the cluster first? This is Server 2016.
Regards,
Adam Tyler
