My server has hyper-V installed and I have installed a virtual machine on my host server (Windows Server2016) I gave my host machine an Ip address to access my physical network. I then created a virtual external switch in Hyper-v that points to my first network adapter on my server. I connected my virtual machine to that virtual network adapter. I then gave my virtual machine an ip address. I am unable to get internet. access to my physical network from my virtual server. I need some help can you tell me what I am doing wrong.

Hey @tenasen-ray-charles ,
Couple of questions,,,
Are you able to ping the Hyper-V host from the VM?
Can you ping the default gateway from the VM?
Can you ping the VM from the Hyper-V host?
Does the VM have the correct default gateway?
Is the network adapter in the Hyper-V host wired or wireless?Let me know and we can go from there.

Mike,
I finally got through.. Thanks. I created an external virtual switch which points to my physical adapter driver. I then gave the virtual vm an ip address and gateway address. It finally can ping the gateway and the physical server's ipaddress. Windows server 2016. Thanks once again
