Any alternative to Spiceworks IT Inventory tool?

I'm looking for a tool which looks at what software is installed on user machines and can report back to a server machine.
My goal is to see which of those softwares need to be updated.

The only one I could find was Spiceworks' IT inventory tool, can SolarWinds or NAGIOS also inventory software installed on user machines?

Is there any software that could see if, for example, a version of Adobe Acrobat is vulnerable and report that back to the server? Just like Nessus, but for common software.
