In the Network + episode (Subnetting step-by-step part 3), at 4:42 this is stated " Keep in mind that on the exam, you will have a calculator,if you're taking Net+". I had previously read that a calculator is not allowed for the exam so I called my local testing center and they said that I cannot take a calculator into the exam with me and that a calculator will not be provided for me during the exam. I know this information will affect how I prepare for the test and thought it may do the same for others. I just wanted to give others a heads-up so they aren't surprised when they go in to sit this exam.

Yes. but it is allowed to make your paper calculator during the exam. You go empty in your box, but you get a writing board with a pen.
You click start the exam and there is a starting page without a timer or the 30 min timer (should be enough). Then design your paper calculator for subnetting.
After that, proceed with the exam questions.I created my own calculator before the actual exam starts and it is very useful. There is no time to calculate subnetting during that exam. I had 3 minutes left
Subnetting is important, I had at least 5 questions.

@Calla-Neil , Hugh thank you on this, I will post an errata to this. There is no mention of taking anything into the exam, but in the past there has been an "on screen calculator" available on certain exams.

Thanks for the suggestion and information. Can you please provide an example of your "paper calculator for subnetting". I'm not familiar with that term. -

You can watch Prof Messer seven second subnetting video on youtube. I am using his method for subnetting because it is fast and easy. During the exam you don't to calculate the numbers, you do this in advance in a smart and fast way. -

Thank you for the information and clarification! I will check that out as well.
