Clearance

Hello,

I am extremly fascinated in becoming a Cyber Secruity Engineer...I love cybersecurity and its a pure motivation which is rare lol.

Anyway, are there career paths that I can pursue that dont require Security clearances with cybersecurity? I actually applied to reserves law enforcement, went through a polygraph, the whole shabang, but I am just not interested in going back into a lifestyle like that again.

I was just thinking about working in the finance industry or in corporate pertaining to cyber security...Im not really interested in getting any clearances.

Hey @clay-schurwon, Most private industries have a cyber security path for both offense and defense, so you should be good for the most part by just avoiding government/law enforcement jobs. That being said, there are private organizations that work closely with Gov/LE (think Northrup Grumman or Booz Allen Hamilton) and therefore may require clearance, but it will be posted as a requirement on the job listing, so they should be easily weeded out.
