I was repairing a laptop the other day, replacing the SSD. It had one of the newer style NVMes. I found one on amazon but the laptop wouldn't recognize it. Not super familiar with that style is there something more I need to know to find a compatible drive?

I'm a noob too when it comes to M.2 SSDs @Brian-Bauer. I just got my WD-Black SN750 and was soo excited to install it. Only to realize I needed a thermal pad. Now I have to wait two more days (at least it's Prime).

There is nothing wrong with being new to a technology @Brian-Bauer that is why we have the Q&A forums.
