This one is a little off-topic so I hope you don't mind me asking. I was thinking about adding a second video card to my system to do SLI. I currently have an nVidia Geforce 680 in a PCI Express x16 slot on my motherboard. My only other PCI Express slot is an x8. Can I do SLI even if the PCI slots don't match speed?

What motherboard are you running? It is hard to say with 100% certainty, but normally the video cards will just step down to the lowest common speed. So, in your case the two cards would step down to x8. That isn't always the case though, so I would need to know your motherboard model to be sure.

Sorry, I forgot to come back and reply. I have a Gigabyte motherboard. I called them up and their support team told me exactly what you said. The cards will step down to x8. Thanks for your help.
