Full name in forum posts?

I notice, after my last post, that the Q&A forums are now showing the full name I signed up with.
Previously I created a handle and that was shown. I don't recall any warning that the forum was going to start using first and last name publicly.
It's not a huge deal, but I personally would rather use a handle - is this still possible? And some warning would have been nice...
