@John-DeWilde ,
Beneath your application refers to everything that is used to run your application. If you application is a web-based application, then this would include:
Web server software (IIS, Apache)
OS (Linux, Windows)
Virtualization (Hyper-V)
Hardware (physical servers)
Networking
and anything else needed to run the app (databases, etc)
Think about going out and buying a piece of software. When you bring it home, you need to have a computer to install it on. Power to run the computer, a network to connect to. With Pass, all of that is taken care of for you. They provide everything, you just need to install the app. They will keep the computer updated. They will keep the network connected. They will upgrade the computer if necessary.
Instead of buying a computer, you just pay for the use of a computer. If you only need to run the software for an hour, then that's all you pay for. If you had bought a computer, you would of had to come up with all the money upfront. and when you weren't using the computer, it's just sitting there still costing money to run and maintain. When it's time to upgrade the computer, you get to pay all over again.
