hi guys im in your MCSA training course 70-410. my question is...Can i run Hyper V through a Virtual Machine already..
for example. using VMWare Player. Run server 2012 on a VM. then i want to run Hyper V to create other servers. is this possible and is it even logical?? dont know if you can virtualize in machine that is already virtual

Hyper V on a Virtual Server?

Jonathan,
The scenario you are mentioning is a weird one.
You can virtualize Windows 2012, you can install HyperV on that virtuaulized HyperV machine. but..as there always is, you will not be able to power a VM on your virtualized HyperV server. This is how it was last time I remember trying it.
Now, I tried it with the Client HyperV, this may be different in VMWare but I'm not sure.
Other's may chime in and prove me wrong.

yeah thats what i thought. i was having difficulty doing it at home so i think im just going to install a physical copy of Server 2012 on a physical disk(my spare drive) and run hyper v on there to lab off of. thanks Ronnie!

This can be done, but it requires some tinkering.
Obviously you would never do this in a production environment, but it could make sense in a lab. I needed to do the exact same thing and ran into an error message about it not working. After some research, I found you needed to make some modifications to the VMware environment. It's been a while and I forget offhand what I did, but I believe I needed to modify both the VM's VMX file as well as a core configuration file in VMware. Granted this was in ESXi -- not sure if it's the same in Workstation/Player. I did a quick Google search and this looks like what I did to get it working:

Just took this screenshot for the other thread on a similar topic, but figured I would post it here too since it shows how it would work from my earlier post:
