CompTIA A+ type of questions

I started watching the A+ course material recently. @wes-bryan does a great job showing many different ways of getting to various settings/files etc. I find it quite difficult to memorize all the different ways, and it seems a bit of a waste of time seeing as in practice I can often just use the search function.

I have looked at many practice exam questions, and didn't see any which needed a specific way of finding something. My question is, how important is this for the exams?

This is an excellent point that you bring up!

It is really not that important that you memorize a specific path. If you are in the CompTIA exam for A+ and there is a Performance-based question where you need to configure or tune a setting, they will program the question so that you can get to the feature using all the common methods.

In short, the exam (in general) is going to focus on the feature itself, not really how to get there!
