Does anyone have advice on how best to prepare for this exam? The book that I have and the video course here are based off the old study guide prior to July 8th. What do I need to keep in mind? Am I just overthinking it or are there things that I should not bother to pay attention to?

How to Prepare for MS-900

The MS-900 course in the library is based on the objectives updated on July 8th, 2020. There haven't been any updates since then.

Enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions while studying.

Hey @Mike-Rodrick ! Thanks for responding and I love what you and the other edutainers did with the MS-900 course.
Ah ok. Im sorry I mispoke, What I meant was that some of the practice questions indicate the old objectives at the bottom. That really isnt my concern at the moment. My major concern is whether or not I should continue using this book:
This book is based off the old objectives. As a study strategy, I like to have access to multiple high quality books and other training material. I guess my real question is what book /text materials do you suggest to supplement this training course?

Unfortunately the only version currently available is the first edition, which was published in Feb 2020, before the latest update. There is no indication as to when they are going to publish a new version.
That being said, it is still a useful book. The exam objectives did change, but not to much to make the book worthless. Make sure to check out the change document for the objectives. Use the link I sent earlier and scroll down to the bottom, you will find a table highlighting the changes. Some of the changes are just reordering or renaming features.
Just make sure to use the current exam objectives as a checklist. I'm a big fan of the Exam Ref series, but as fast as things change, books are becoming less and less useful. I would highly recommend using Microsoft Docs as your main reference. It is kept up to date, even including preview features. Lots of tutorials and how-to guides as well.
My new study method includes googling every exam objective, and adding "site:docs.microsoft.com" to each search. No better source for Microsoft information.
Hope this helps,

@Mike-Rodrick That is really good advice and you guys even went through the trouble of linking some Microsoft Documentation as external resources. Awesome! I have another question. So in the Core Microsoft 365 Services and Concepts Section of the course, I dont think I see this objective linked to a video:
Describe Microsoft 365 collaboration solutions
ï‚· explain how collaboration solutions in Microsoft 365 can drive personal and
organizational productivity
ï‚· describe the capabilities for extending Office and Microsoft Teams with Power Platform
and third-party apps and servicesI have indeed gone through the whole course and I am going through it again so i may have just missed it. Is this one of those objectives that kind of just overlaps with others? Like this one for example?
Identify core Microsoft 365 capabilities
ï‚· productivity and teamwork (IM and chat, online meetings, email and calendaring, Office
productivity apps, file storage and sharing, intranet and team sites, enterprise social,
accessibility)
ï‚· business management (simplified management, business process automation,
extensibility, business voice and phone systems, forms and workflow management,
business intelligence, work management, customer scheduling and booking, mileage
tracking and reporting)
ï‚· security and compliance (identity and access management, information protection and
governance, threat protection, security management, insider risk management,
compliance management, discover and respond)
ï‚· describe the capabilities of the Microsoft 365 Admin center and Microsoft 365 user
