'Developing with Python' video?

Hello,
Just a quick question. I'd like to use the text editor program that Don uses in this video - he called it Vi. I am running MacOS Big Sur (11.1) and when I open the terminal and type in Vi, I can't seem to use it in the same way he does... Can anyone give me a few pointers to get this up and running on my Mac? Or point me in the direction of a walkthrough online? I have had a quick look, but can't seem to see one....?

Any help would be great!

macOS has a limited version of vi installed by default, so it works a little different than the one I was using. I was using the full-featured version of vi called vim-enhanced. You can install it using Homebrew. There is a good writeup on how to do that here.

I spun up an Ubuntu 20.04 desktop with python 3. You can install VIM or use PyCharm to do Python coding. Works great on older hardware.
