Microsoft is at it again, the END of the MTA Certification

Microsoft has recently ended the Microsoft ( MCSA, MCSE, MCSD) NOW its targeting the MTA (Microsoft Technology Associate) by June 2022. The MTA is a great little Certification for those who are interested in getting the Microsoft Certification at the Fundamentals Level, Now this is ending too

This is funny in some ways, since I posted something similar on this forum regarding if the Microsoft is ending the MTA Certification, and with Today's News Is Microsoft is also ending this Certification, the question is why?

In the link above, I have no idea what they mean by this ? MTA certification exam licenses can be purchased until June 30, 2021.? Are they talking about the Vouchers?

This is funny in some ways, since I posted something similar on this forum regarding if the Microsoft is ending the MTA Certification, and with Today's News Is Microsoft is also ending this Certification, the question is why?

The rest of the IT industry, including Microsoft is no longer focusing on a particular product or technology any more as much as a job role. In that sense, the MTA were really technology focused, in the very same manner that the Cisco CCENT was really technology focused.

Today, the industry is expecting people to be able to fulfill the duties of that particular role and have expectations for that. So, certifications change. Just recently, I completed the recording the PCCSA (Palo Alto Certified Cybersecurity Associate) show for ITProTV. Only to find that by the time I completed it, the certification is now gone and replaced by the PCCET (Palo Alto Certified Cybersecurity Entry-level Technician)--a change to a job role rather than a technology or product certification.

It's possible but you might be able to post in that Microsoft community forum for more clarification on what is meant.

Two Important Dates: You have until June 30th 2021, you have about 4 months or so to buy or purchase an MTA Voucher, after this date, not sure the Vouchers will still be good or valid after this date or can be purchased from a 3rd Party (IT Exam Voucher)

You have until June 30th 2022 to register and take the MTA Exam, after this date you can't take the MTA Exams

According to the link, yes if you want to purchase exam vouchers for these MTAs, they're are not selling them post June 30, 2021. This make sense for the company that wants all their employees to have the MTA certification before it retired. They are telling you to buy them now because they will not be available after that date.

The final date to use the vouchers or even sit for the exam will be the June 30, 2022 date. This means you must schedule the exam before the July 1, 2022 date. You cannot schedule nor sit for that exam after July 30, 2022.

As far as 3rd party purchase goes, These vouchers will probably not be available to them after that date. If you have questions on whether or not they are available after the June 30, 2021 date, you might want to directly reach out to them and ask if they will be available for purchase after that date.
