After a CD-R got written on it can only be read. so can you refer to it as a CD-ROM from that point on because in theory it would be described as read only memory or does it stay with the name CD-R ?
Thanks for the help in advance.

A+ CD-ROM and CD-R

Hey @Sven-biedermann
Great question! The answer is that it remains a CD-R as the material used to allow it to be written to is different than a traditional CD-ROM. However, that would never be a question on the Comptia exam to try and confuse you. Just know that the CD-R allows you to write content ONCE. In fact they call them WORM media. (Write Once, Read Multiple).

@Sven-biedermann cannot say it better than @Chris-Ward has said. Remember CD-ROMs cannot be written at all, and CD-R just like Chris said can be written to once and only once!
