Hello,
I have been in the IT Profession for about 20 years and wanted to change my area of expertise. I am new to this area of IT and wanted to know what would be the best approach to starting with regards to the training offered here.
I started looking at the Security + and its very interesting to say the least but if anyone can recommend the right path for me to take that would be much appreciated.

If you've got that much time in IT, then you're probably OK to start with something like Security+. It's a great cert that teaches the fundamentals of security which come in handy as you progress up the ladder.
Then you just need to make a decision. Do you want to be on Defense or Offense? Not that you can't do both, but most people specialize in one or the other, especially when they're just starting out. Once you pick your Team, then you'll be able to choose the proper certification/skills path.

I have the same purpose like yours and the same situation.
I have chosen my patht as:
1- security+
2- cloud+
3-CySA+
4-Pentest+
5- CISSP
I do not know if it is correct path, i hope if one of our moderators advise us,
Note: i am CCNA R/S cerfied and i got CCNP R/S as a college ceroficate.
for that reason i dont need the Network+.
