I passed the CSC-210 today, just thought I'd let people know that EVERYTHING in the CSC-110 material on ITProTV is still relevant.
For those thinking about taking this exam, I suggest you don't underestimate it... The actual test is at least 50% "situations" looking for the "best" answer in a pile of stuff you don't like... Honestly, I am somewhat surprised I passed because within the first 2 questions set a mood of "I am ill prepared for this" and upon hitting "finish exam" I was only certain that 20-30 of the 80 were correct.
Anyway, I have no security background other than being long time non-professional programmer/geek. I've spent the last 3 months studying all kinds of eclectic topics using various paid and unpaid sources. I can't say anything "helped me the most" for building the relevant knowledge. It wasn't CSC-110 course on ITPro or even the official electronic study guide I went through 3 times. Its those in combination with with a bunch of related training (Network+ was even good context) and watching everything "generally related" to web application security for the past 2-3 months.
Other Notes:
The official CertNexus labs are kind of a joke and mostly covered by the ITProTV guys, but they are super inexpensive so I would recommend doing them; especially if you haven't spent 2-3 months going through eclectic security materials.
Its safe to say "code" is not prominent on this test, I probably only saw something resembling (which actually makes the question MORE ambiguous) code in less than 5 places.
