I am currently gong through the AZ-104 course. I want to follow along and do what is being shown. I don't want to incur a large bill. Can I get an idea of how much it cost to do all the Azure items that are shown in the course? I don't plan on keeping any VM running or storing more than txt files in storage. I have a full tenant as I hold a Microsoft 365 E5 license I started when doing MD-100, MD-101, MS-100 and MS-101. I passed all the exams but don't think I could have without doing the actions in the course. I want to do the same for AZ-104. I am willing to spend some money but would like to keep the costs to a minimum. Thanks in advance.
Mike does a great job answering this question starting around 10 minutes into the Manage Subscriptions episode of the new Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) course.
You can also configure a budget and alerts within the Cost Management tool set of Azure to cap your expenditures.
@Jim-Ferguson & @Donald-Muncy , I hope you are well. Our "Average" cost to run through all the labs you see in a completed cost varies widely by course based on a number of factors (course length, number of episodes requiring a demo, type of demo, number of services/systems required to build and use, etc...)
We try really hard to keep costs down by only setting up what we need when we need it, and only using for as long as necessary, and then destroying those resources once we are done.
Our Azure tenants that are used continuously by Mike and I for our courses are licensed as E5 solutions with an Azure AD premium P2 level license and ALL of the additional bells and whistles as extras, as well as having at last 2 fully licensed users, so our monthly recurring costs are between 150.00 & 200.00 plus additional usage fees as necessary.
Most months usage is under $10.00 if we are not actively shooting a course, just to maintain the infrastructure and the minimal systems we run full time like Doman Controller VM's that might get turned on once every week to synch for 1 or 2 hours...
During a course, we may run around $ 100.00 + / or - additional charges per month depending on what we are shooting.
.Thanks for the reference, Adam.
$100 - $150 a month should give plenty of lab time.
