Hyper-V implements golden image as a master image for a VM, VDI or server or HDD.
VmWare can do the same thing but cost is higher and is a bit more technically challenging. VmWare can also use gold images too (see https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Horizon/2111/virtual-desktops/GUID-D9C46AEF-1C41-4711-BF9E-84362EBE6ABF.html)
