Hello everyone, I'm a new member! I see that there is a new Comptia A+ course released by ItProtv. However, I noticed that it doesn't have any labs. Is it recommended to do the new A+ course but complete the labs of the 2019 A+ course? Thank you!

New Comptia A+ course

Also, the difference in the length of the courses are staggering. 24 hours is far shy of 103. Is the new course meant to be supplemental or is the new test just far less information?

Hi @Robby-Singh and @andrew-Schneider ,
Thanks for your question! We have shifted to an instructional design methodology that prioritized content scaffolding and concise, clear explanations. The result is less repetition of content (repeating in 5 -6 episodes the fundamental content illustrated in episode 1) and more focused, learner-centric, and purposeful discussion (less off-topic banter).
Further, we grouped the objectives and topic lists within modules in a more learner-centric fashion, presenting content in a teaching progression rather than the content-centric organization that CompTIA presents them in. By that I mean that rather than creating a one-to-one episode per topic in the order CompTIA presented, which lead to much repetition and content presented out of sequence (requiring more explanation), we have ordered the content to match the way that our SME's and in-classroom instructors said they would teach this content to their students. Every episode aligns to objectives and all objectives are covered. I'm going to ask @Wes-Bryan to tag in to give us a little more insight as to how this plays out in the course.
As for the 1102 labs, we are so close! The Practice labs design team is in the testing phase and the new 1102 labs will be live on ITProTV this quarter. Keep an eye on our member newsletters - we will be announcing there and in our monthly Feature Release communications when they are ready for you to enjoy.

Hey everyone, great questions. In past versions of this course we would take a bulk of specifications and go through each spec and attribute. This would branch out into 3 or 4 episodes to cover what could be summed up in a single chart, reducing the episodes count down to a single 20 minute episode. There would be concepts that would appear multiple times across the body of the objectives. We found this to be the case across many domains, objectives, and topics.
