I'm looking at traffic between home router and cable modem.
Am I seeing all neighbor traffic? IOW all traffic on the cable?
Goal is to see my IOT traffic? Like where is the kitchen light connecting to? And what is the source IP when a controller punches thru to my light when I turn it on remotely?
It would be great to have real world courses that utilize the courses offered by ITPRO which are great.

You can use Wireshark and filter by the IP address of the IoT device. Now...because you're not directly on the IoT device. You would need a physical hub....or have to setup port mirroring to send copies of frames from the switchport which the IoT device is attached to the port that your wireshark device is on.
