I am attaching a screenshot from the security + course that I am currently taking.
On google it shows port 465 and port 587 are SMTP ports whereas the port number for POP3S on google is 995.
Please clarify.
Also, can you explain the difference between POP3S, IMAP, and SMTP??

The ports should be:
IMAP
Default Port - 143
IMAPS = 993
POPv3
Default = 110
POP3S = 995
SMTP
Default = 25
SMTPS = 587/465
SMTP forwards email
POPv3 retrieves email, deleting the email from the server
IMAP retrieves email but leaves the message on server

How does S/MIME fit into the picture?j You said it is more of a technology than a protocol so like where the entire scenario of sending and receiving emails does S/MIME fit into with the other protocols in use like POP3S or IMAP or SMTP? Like I wanted do they all work simultaneously?
