@wes-bryan I just wanted to say nice job on this course man! Fantastic hosting from Lauren too!

I think some of the fundamentals and non-certification courses often don't get as much attention on the forums, but honestly this was the best "get started with networking" course I've yet seen - exactly the right level for the target market, and I even learned a few things with 5 CCNP's under my belt!

I just wanted to suggest that perhaps having a course at exactly this level but security focused would also be a fantastic thing to have - I often work with small businesses who have staff who could do with a course with some more information than basic end user awareness, but without getting into as much depth as a certification course. Something as to Security+ as this was to Network+.

There's a good legacy course on "practical security" or similar which was pretty good for this - but I liked the way Networking Fundamentals also gave just enough of an outline of some more the more theoretical aspects to let the learner situate the practical aspects within the field more broadly. Good work!

I am struggling with the CCNA possibly because I once went to schools to become a web developer and do not have experience with networking. I started with CCENT (2018) to get the fundamentals but it is still very much to learn and remember. Jumped on the Network Fundamentals and it really awakens the interest in networking in another way than the others because those probably have a steeper learning curve for one with no experience. I want to ad that I liked the use of a big screen ( don't overdo it) to visualize a home setup and the notes are great to for "getting the visuals" as Lauren says. Good job on this, made me think that I one day might pass the CCNA.

You really might want to take a look at Network+ before moving on to CCNA - CCNA is a fantastic certification and getting mine was one of the best moves I ever made, however I later took Net+ and wished I'd done that first!

Net+ would follow on really really well from this course, and Wes and Ronnie approach it in a very similar way (although a bit more formal since it is a certification course). Net+ isn't easier per se, but it's vendor neutral and therefore more focused on giving you an understanding of networking as a topic - CCNA certainly covers the majority of this too, but personally I think it's much easier to have a good understanding of a technology and then learn how Cisco (or Juniper if you like!) actually implement that.

@Scott-Fenn Thank you for the advise and I am going to follow up on that. I struggle with all the things that have to be memorized because a lack of experiense.
I get the feeling that the reward for taking the CCNA is out there waiting for me somewhere.
