Thanks for writing in. While I'm not allowed to say what is specifically on the exam, there are a few things I can help with. There are definitely simulation questions on the exam. CompTIA calls these "Performance Based" questions and they mention them in a few dark corners of their website, but don't draw a lot of attention to them so it is easy to be caught unawares. They typically take two forms; either asking you to configure something, or asking you to interpret data. In the case of configuring something, it will typically be a generic firewall, router or server so you don't need to memorize steps. If you understand the concepts behind the settings, then the generic settings screens won't pose a problem. The same thing goes for the interpretation questions. It will be generic output from a system, and as long as you understand the concepts behind it, you will breeze right through.
