How much time do you have if you pass the 801 before you are required to pass the 802?

The answer is...forever.
Technically, you could take the 220-801 and never take the 220-802 exam. No ITProTV subscriber would do that though!
In another life as a technical instructor, I've had folks in class that would take the 1st exam and then turn around and immediately take the 2nd one. It's about momentum, if you've been studying both anyways.
I've also had people that would take the 1st wait a few days, a few weeks before taking the 2nd one.
It all depends on your study habits, material and confidence level you have.
