Enhancement request: Certificate customisation

Hi guys,

I'm really liking all the changes to the site in terms of navigation, etc.of late. I finally got around to finishing a couple of episodes that were outstanding and thought I'd download the new certificate as evidence for CPD. It would be really helpful if they could be tweaked to include:

1. The full name of the course rather than abbreviated, e.g. CEH shows up as CEH instead of Certified Ethical Hacker.
2. The names of the hosts as the trainers.
3. The number of hours completed (to the nearest 1/2 hour).
4. Use another field on the account page (which is hidden from other users except itpro staff) to populate the name for certificate as I'd want to put my full name for CPD purposes rather than my forum name.

If you could make some or all of the above changes I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks for the request. I just talked to the member of the ITProTV dev Kung-Fu masters. They are working on it to make it suit our members needs better but I believe is our initial round of getting it out and doing it automatically. So it's coming....

Michala - As it's a generated PDF I believe if you have adobe writer you should be able to edit it.

We actually prevent it from being altered by default. We do this as our due diligence so someone like Ronnie Wong can't just take an ITProTV completion certificate and make them on their own very easily and provide all of his co-workers with certificates to account for training.

Now, having said that. If you wanted to manipulate it on your own, there are plenty of tools out there to allow you to do so. So we're working on the honor system that Ronnie wouldn't do it....but if he really wanted to do that for his buddies at work who want to say they did their ITProTV training, he could.

Ah OK. Good to see due diligence being exercised :) - I must admit I hadn't tried editing them

Just an idea, no clue whether it would sell or not though, have you guys thought of offering a ITProTV online store where you can sell things? USBs of complete videos, mugs etc... also selling the certificates framed?

We love the idea of having a store.... but what we don't like is the idea of charging our members more money for things than what they already pay now. So we're trying to figure out how to do this. Where it's a points system based let's say for exam off of forum posts, or earning certifications using ITProTV content that may add up to points that you can go to a store and get something for it (T-Shirts, mugs etc). So this is in our future but we don't have the great way to go with it yet.
