Hey guys! Thanks so much for the Pfsense class. It was awesome. I need to pick your brain and see if you can help me to setup something for a client.
I hope I can explain this. It will be hard without a chart or graphic.
The current setup
Mediaserver
streaming
from port --------------> peplink load balancer <----- 3 WAN (3 x modems) -----> web portal. (en user)
4900 to 4990
The client needed a lot of upload speed so he thought that needed a load balancer to get more upstream bandwidth. Peoplink does that, but the problem is when a session is requested they all come thorough the same IP therefore only one modem takes all the load.
I don't care about fixing his problem, I want to create a solution with pfsense. I am very sure it's possible. I just need you to point me to the right source or material, maybe re-watch some episode here that will give me some light.
This is my challenge:
A user goes to a web portal and request a video. I want to be able to send that request and balance it via three WAN and when the server receives that, start streaming the video back but balancing among the three modems.
I am sure is possible. I guess YouTube was able to do it :) I am sure pfSense is powerful enough to achieve this.
Any suggestion?
Let me know if you want a graphic or a better explanation of the problem.
Thank you!
