I have 2 computers, a desktop and a laptop. Both computers run Windows 10 Pro. The desktop has HyperV installed with a Windows 7 VM attached to it. I would like to remote connect to the desktop HyperV from my laptop.
I have enabled remote management on both computers.
I've ran the winrm quickconfig on both computers.
I've ran the PS command of set-item wsman:\localhost\clients\trustedhosts - value "laptop" on the desktop.
I've created a user account "sysadmin" and added it to the HyperV Administrators group that I used on the connect as another user.
I've disabled the firewall on both computers.
Both computers are in the same Home Group and same Workgroup.
However, I still get the following error:
An error occurred while attempting to connect to server "desktop". Check that the Virtual Machine Management service is running and that you are authorized to connect to the server.
You do not have the required permission to complete this task. Contact the administrator of the authorization policy for the computer "desktop".
What am I missing to get my laptop to connect to my desktop's hyperv?
