@Gerardo-Soto said in Beginner - MCSA 70-410 How to Use:
Hello,
I am new to the Microsoft server world and I am currently watching the first videos of MCSA 70-410. I am ready to install Windows Server in my PC.
One of the steps done by Mike, right after installing the server, is to add the server to the domain, so the following questions came up:
- How do I make my newly installed server a DC? If I am going to add a new server to a domain, I need to have a domain first, right?
Yes you must must the role for the AD DS, usually, though not required we also add the DHCP and DNS role, at the same time. follow the instructions and fill in the required field.s
This lead me to the 2nd question.
- Are the instructions for making my server a DC (and for [initial/basic] AD set up) in the 70-410 course as well? If yes, do you recommend that I start by watching those chapters first? (instead of watching the chapters in the order listed in the chapters page? Which chapters should I start watching?
Yes you should see the addition of the role and yes you probably need to watch those first. Our 70-410 show is based around the exam objectives in the order they are normally found (not always though!). This is because it is the simplest way to list them but that doesn't represent any real logical thought progression.
Thank you in advance!
Cordially,
