I saw an episode where the command was run to reboot a machine. I have been told by other admins that if you use the -f switch to force the restart then you must also use a -t switch with a parameter greater than 0 otherwise the -f switch is ignored. Can any of you guys confirm this just curious. Example shutdown -r -f -t 0 would not force hung apps to close but -r -f -t 1 would. Thanks.

In the episode regarding migrating roles to new 2012 machines you migrated the DHCP role. I found information regarding supported roles to be transferred and did not see DHCP. Would you be able to direct me to the documentation regarding migrating that DHCP role? Thanks.

In the network media video one from the network plus module. You said you were showing Wes a networking IP to MAC binding trick to work with an IP camera. What's the trick? Thanks.

Hey just watched the WAN technologies episode and Don mentioned some router simulators. Can you let me know a little more about them. Also some time ago he also mentioned a syslog server for Windows that had some other nice features along with it. Think he said it was free but it was a while ago so I do not recall. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

My ipad used to remember the position where I paused a video if I was unable to watch the whole thing at once. I would be able to come back after a while sometimes up to a couple days if I recall. Now it seems like when I come back it starts over and I have to try to search to find the break where I left off. Just wondering if that feature is coming back or not. It was very helpful for me instead of trying to remember which video I left off where because I jump around between them alot. Thanks.

Was wondering if you were going to be including any exam sims or the like? I want to try to answer some questions about the courses. Seems to help it stick better for me.

Very interesting I knew about mapping static ARP entries but that is an actual use for it :-)
Oddly enough on my Win 8.1 laptop it didn't work. May have been the camera since it already had a different IP on my network as well so I'm not sure what caused me to not connect.
The real weird issue to me though is when I ran arp -d to delete it if you ran verbose arp -av it showed it didn't actually delete it but rather filled the MAC with all 0's and kept it in the table so I ended up getting odd errors and just gave up.

If I think about it your local subnet should be 24 bit and that 192.168.100.1 would be an off net wan address where the modem is just running a webserver.
so 192.168.1.100:80 NAT to 192.168.100.1:80 and back.

I would say that it would be something you write yourself to do that. I am not a programmer but that seems simple enough you could learn the basics and do it. There may be a product that could make it into an executable windows binary also. Good luck!
