Can someone tell me what makes App-V different from Remote App? I watched the "Support Desktop Apps" video and I can't seem to get it straight. I know Remote App is an app that runs in a remote desktop client without the rest of the desktop present, it's just the app. How does App-V differ?

A great question on confusing technology terminology. I'll give it a shot from the System Administrator side of things to help (or muddle things).
From the Admin side, it's about resources, resources, resources. Where are the resources?
-
Remote App, the resources are server based on the Remote Desktop Server. You're really opening a session on that RDS server. Also, network wise the data is not transmitted you're accessing server, only keyboard, video, mouse is really being transmitted.
-
App V, the resources for that app is local to the user. The machine that the user has, the app will be "streamed" to the local machine...so the user is provided the app on his desktop, not just access to the app.
I'm hoping the Microsoft Kung-Fu Masters here at ITProTV will provide a better explanation than my ramblings!
