@Melissa-Kattke,
At the time of the recording the objective was for AAD Sync because AAD Connect wasn't generally available yet. But as to the point of not mentioning it at all: In Setup AAD Sync Tools https://itpro.tv/course-library/microsoft-office-365/setup-aadsync-tools/ at 1:20 mark or so I do describe what we will eventually be using which is the active directory connect tool. DirSync and AAD Sync itself was no longer supported individually but the AAD Connect wasn't out. I chose to use and demonstrate the tool that members could download and test and I believed wouldn't be that different from the AAD Connect Tool release.
The search of the transcript will not show you AAD Connect and that is because the transcription service translated it as "Acer Directory Connect Tool." (about the 3:36 mark)--I assume do to hard to understand pronunciation.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to post. I could actually have missed something this at least makes me go back and check to assure that we covered what we needed. It could be that in the near future now that things have stabilized with the tools we reshoot this episode or that section because the tools are now GA.
Cordially,
