Hello, I have been struggling for while with a weird issue at the school I work at. At random times throughout the day a few clients will drop off the network with a 169 APIPA address. The only way to get them back on is to physically move to a different access point and then they are fine. Nothing seems to be wrong with the DHCP server, we have plenty of available addresses. Could the content filter we have be the issue? Thanks.

How are you running DHCP? is this from your Access-Point? from Windows Server? from Firewall, Router, etc?
Check logs to see what happens. If you're running from let's say a pfSense firewall and have ntop logging turn on, make sure you check the disk space available, you may find logs filling up your disk space. I've found that to be a recent problem.Has your AP, recently rebooted? Can you still connect through that access point after you reboot?
