I was pleased to see that there was a virtual lab and a nice diagram of IP addresses etc to go along with the MCSA course. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any course direction, instruction, scenarios etc. I would rather go in with a clear set of goals and directions to follow and not just fumble around. Am I missing something?
I connected to one last night and was surprised too that there were no objectives or scenarios to go through. Additionally, the domain was already setup, with the servers and clients joined. It would be nice to have to build it from scratch with a purpose driven project.
Also, I noticed that the non-DC server was isolated from the rest of the network, though I imagine that was a glitch on the part of the provider.
We had originally decided that the vlab was to be a sandbox environment, the chance for users to build everything. The configuration was to begin with just the most basic idea of connectivity. This way people could build and try what they wanted to do.
We are talking about building up scenarios. This is on our list of to dos that continues to grow. *sigh -- we're trying*
The isolated server is set up at it's default install which means the firewall is on and may need to be reconfigured for basic connectivity. I normally disable it to prove that it is connected to the network, then go back and turn on the firewall and enable the connectivity through it I need.
