Hello,
I'm almost finished studying for the CCENT exam. Would it benefit me/increase my chance of passing the CCENT by studying the CCNA and getting familiar with its topics? Or should I just do the CCENT and then study for CCNA?
Thanks.

Great question!
The easiest way to get an assessment on this is to take a look at the exam objectives. If there are exam objectives you don't know, then continuing with the CCNA study will help you prepare for CCENT as well. A side benefit is that you'll be able to study for the second exam as well.
But if you're ready for the CCENT and feel confident even if you haven't been studying for the CCNA, I would get into the booth and get to your certification goal!

Thanks Ronnie. I took your advice and watched a few videos with VLANs since I wasn't that confident with it. I can't say it helped though, as the exam was a bit disappointing. I expected it to be a little more in depth similar to the virtual labs, but I was stumped with memorization questions like RFC and cable types, etc. Nevertheless I passed, on to the CCNA.
@Nicholas-Khan,
This is Cisco's equivalent of CompTIA Network+ with Cisco being emphasized and using their terminology. But nonetheless it is foundational knowledge and you have to realize something here. The challenge is to get you ready for the CCNA R+S exam. So the main focus is on the basic knowledge but giving you a sample of what you're going to face on the CCNA exam in terms of format.
This does mean you'll focus more on the Cisco technology and terminology so more questions there and less on the foundational knowledge. Make sure you feel confident in all subjects areas and that you could answer them as easily as you did the CCENT.
The ITProTV Team congratulates you and celebrates your success. Please also post here for other, what was your study pattern, tools you used and if you used ITProTV how did you use it to help you. This will help other members to achieve their certification goals too. thanks!
