There was a server 2012 70-410 episode where there was a webpage shown that had activation keys to install but not activate MS products. I am building a Server 2012 computer for practice and hyper-v. Does anyone know what this webpage is? Also, how long can you use the OS's you use these keys on? That is to say if I want to have a few servers in the domain and a few Win 8 VM's how can I practice with them without purchasing keys as this will make practicing financially impossible.

James,
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj612867.aspx is where you would find them.
You're supposed to use them when you setup a KMS cient activations, for our purpose they will work for testing.. I'm not sure if it extends the grace period. The KMS checks in with MS every once in a while...while the KMS clients check against the KMS client you setup... If the KMS server's keys aren't activated. I don't believe these keys will remain activated either. I couldn't be wrong on this point.

I have a full copy of server 2012 with a valid license I got from Technet. Do you think this will be a KMS server good enough to run the clients (server 2012 clients and desktop OS's)?

James,
If you're just building a test bed. I wouldn't do the KMS activation at all. This is my opinion. I would configure back it up. when you put in the KMS client licenses, it will accept it but no need to activate it. Do regular backups..when the KMS keys try to check in...and it doesn't answer it will let you know. I would just reinstall and restore the backup. It takes a little longer but this way you not having to maintain a KMS server either.
The technet key may work but it has to be a KMS key and not an MAK key.
