subnetting tips

Start with the basics.
Do you know how to convert Binary to Decimal and Decimal to binary?
e.g. could you convert 192.168.10.0 to binary? what about 255.255.255.0 to binary?Do know the rules of subnet masks?
Do you understand the purpose of subnetting?
But if you already know those, do you have specific example you're having some difficulty in subnetting?
If you're needing general help with learning how to do subnetting, check out the CCENT (2018) course that is within the legacy section of our Courses. Daniel and I begin at the beginning with it here..but there are multiple episodes -- https://app.itpro.tv/course-library/ccent-updated-2018/understandapply-subnetting/?tagcategory=course-library&tag=legacy

Do you understand the binary layout of subnet masks?
Do you know what it is that a subnet does?
You may want to check out the link I have from my previous post as we do an extensive job explaining every aspect of subnetting...if you have additional questions after that or about those topics, please reply here. I will try to answer to help!

@Ronnie-Wong thanks i will be checking out the legacy content you linked to. i would say for me at the moment i cant tell the subnet mast of let's say a /24 address would be. i also struggle with diving up the subnets so you have enough to divide up so you don't segment off too much or little since i know you can't go backward

Please do take a look at those episodes. I think that will answer the majority if not all of your questions. If not please post more questions here!
