I'm getting confused on the differences between these two depending on how a question is asked in the practice tests. If i want to deploy a web application without worrying about installing an OS, web application, or manage updates why wouldn't this be SAAS instead of PAAS.

PAAS vs SAAS

If the web application was built and deployed for you, and all you had to do was use the application, that would be SaaS. Think Office 365, or Gmail.
If you want to build and deploy an application, then you need a platform to do that on. But you are providing and managing the application. That is PaaS.

@Mike-Rodrick Finding it a challenge thinking i know the meanings of terms, and i'm wrong. I really enjoy this stuff, but it's square peg round hole a lot of the time. I'll keep asking questions. Really not getting the permissions things so have to keep looking for labs and material to sort it out.
