Annual Account Renewal Discounts

In listening to one of the TWiT podcasts a week or so ago, I could have sworn I heard them mention (in the ITPro.TV ad) that you are changing the pricing on annual plan renewals to be significantly less than what they normally are for the first year. I believe you mentioned this being planned in one of your own videos. I forget the exact amount they said, but I thought it was in the $2XX range. I went to look for more information about this on your website but couldn't find anything. So my questions are:

1. Is this true? If so, how much are the renewal prices and when does/did that go into effect?
2. Will existing 'lifetime' discounts work on top of this?
3. Is there any way to see more information under the 'Account Settings' page to show renewal dates and pricing? Right now, there isn't much information there.

TWiT is one of the reasons I subscribed to ITPro as well. What I've heard from the podcasts was that after the first years of your subscription the next year would be $249, if I remember the price correctly. I don't know know if that stacks with any discounts as that's not mentioned in the ad. I look forward to hearing a more official answer as well though.

Thank you Andrew for the question, I appreciate the opportunity to clear up any confusion from how our subscription pricing works for our members. With TWiT or any other sites that offer promo codes we want to secure the best price and "lock" in your discount as long as your account remains active. Many still have the 50% discount from our first few months, most are at the 30% that is currently offered through TWiT, we want to offer the most attractive incentives to becoming a member as well as continuing your memberships. As we approached our 1st birthday, we had an idea to increase everyones effective discount to $249, to encourage the ITPro's who are always learning to continue their subscriptions at ITProTV. We hope to offer even better more attractive discounts to those that stay with us for 2+ years also. Their may be a time in our future, that we have other offerings or libraries, features that may not be able to be included in our subscription model, so in that sense we want every member to know, that if your account remains active you will always continue to receive the promo discount that you started with to protect your investment moving forward. Discounts do not stack, but rather always are off of the web price, it is like jumping from one discount to a bigger discount when you receive the $249 annual or $24.90 monthly for your 13th-24th months. We hope to continue to share our success with our members that are with us and continue to stay with us, learning the entire way.

Tim, thanks for clearing that up. Definitely awesome news and it makes being an annual member that much better.
So is it safe to assume that this ongoing discount bringing the annual price to $249 is already applied to our accounts and will be activated when we renew for our second year and we don't need to do anything to get it?
Also, is there any way to have the Account Settings page better track our subscription status (renew date, price/discount, etc.)?
