I would like the answer to this one as well, I have created my first VM in Azure, I was going to do the Hyper-V but the storage (SATA) and the Memory 8 GB RAM just not sure if it will run more than one VM
@Gilbert-Choo , I hope all is well. Are you planning on running the virtualization software ON TOP of your Linux distro on a laptop or desktop? OR, are you going to use a Server Host to create and run VM's?
hi @Adam-Gordon looking to run it as my lab as I enter into cybersecurity..
I am running windows 10 now.. So I will be running type 2 virtualization if i am not wrong..
I have Virtual box and VMware on my system. I like VMware more just because it behaves better. Not to mention i think the settings are easier to adjust and understand. There's less clutter.
@Logan-Sims which version of VMWare do you run?
@Gilbert-Choo , Yes, you would install a hypervisor such as VMware player or Workstation and/or VirtualBox and run it ON TOP of Windows 10. However, Windows 10 has Hyper-V built in depending on the version you are running, and you can use Hyper-V as well.
@Gilbert-Choo VMware Workstation 16 player 16.1.0
I use VMWare (Fusion,Player,Workstation) and Virtualbox quite a bit, and I'll say that Fusion is great, but can be too abstract when it comes to what you can see/control. Virtualbox is strong tech especially for the price.

Honestly I'd go with Virtualbox simply because in terms of value, it's very difficult to beat and gets the job done.
If your running Windows 10, Hyper-V FTW!
