Hey everyone-
I currently have ~15 people testing WVD on two session hosts, and so far results feedback has been good! Everyone is happy with the experience, particularly the latency. As I look ahead at fully deploying WVD as a solution for my company, we're planning to use it as the full-time environment for our employees. To facilitate this we're thinking about converting our current office PCs (new midrange HP minis mostly) into be essentially terminals to access WVD. The idea would be for a user to sit at a PC, log in using their domain account, and have access only to the Windows 10 Remote Desktop application (and maybe a web browser) to then log into their WVD environment to work.
This way, whether they're working normally in the office or have to work from home, they're using the same environment.
I've also been looking at ThinClients... maybe not for immediate need, but for ongoing replacement of devices through attrition. My understanding is that a thinclient with Window IoT Enterprise would do what I want here, being that it could run just the Windows RDC app. I really have no practical experience with Thinclients so I may be off base here.
So really my question, to anyone who might know, what would be the best way to facilitate this? How would I go about locking down the existing PCs, would I image them in a specific way or use group policy to restrict content? I lookied into Kiosk mode and I don't think that will work for our situation. Will the thin clients work?
I realize that's a lot but any guidance would be appreciated.
As always, thank you!
