Looking for some Docker input

Im going through the Intro to Docker class and am looking into the practicality of using Containers for my various services Im looking to set up. Im only about 25% through this class but it looks like a whole lot more work to try and achieve the same results. I would love to hear what some people who have experience setting up services that require data retention and dependencies on other services have to say. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

Containers may seem like an excessive amount of work - but the resource savings are measurable and therefore containers are here to stay for a long time. We should also realize the security implications as well that make them so sought after. Containers, by their very nature, reduce attack surfaces dramatically! This is always GREAT!
