Looking at Storage pools and tiers.
Would it be beneficial to set this up with SAN attached storage.
Lets say I have 2 or 3 SANS of different speed and age. Could I attach 3 drives 1 from each SAN, pool them and then tier them in windows. Or would I only want to use this with local storage. Seems like a cheap way to tier my different SAN storage.

Storage Pools with SAN drives ?

Ralph, I have to apologize for not seeing this post.
Personally, I'm not sure sure if' you're accomplishing much by doing this. SANs are capable of doing what you're talking about without Storage Pools but if you're having to deal with disparate performance drives you may instead consider doing this but I don't know how the performance would be except in general computing theory: This storage pool will perform as well as the slowest device within that pool.
